Transportation
June 2, 2024
One of the earliest achievements in a persons life is the first steps they take as a baby on their own. Our legs are the first and most basic form of transportation we learn to utilize. As our world expands, so too does our transportation methods.
Travel is a key ingredient in the development of a well-rounded individual. As one is exposed to various groups and ideas, they mature to being more accepting of different cultures and lifestyles. Stagnation leads to an arrested intellectual development.
For this reason, the ruling class go to great lengths to limit the ability of the working class to travel. By increasing cost of living without comparible increases in pay, workers are unable to save for time off and travel expenses. This is part of the massive blanket of oppression the ruling class place over the working class.
By isolating people into small pockets of influence, the ruling class are able to more effectively disseminate deception and propaganda. When a community is introduced to xenophobic ideas without the ability to experience first hand the discrepency between the deception and reality, the deception becomes their reality.
For this reason, transportation must be available for all regardless of economic status. Although technology has eliminated the requirement for an individual to be in a particular destination for employment, many jobs do still require that physical presence. By ensuring that all citizens have appropriate transportation available, we guarantee that essential roles can remain staffed even in times of economic turmoil.
Part of solving the problem of transportation will involve reimagining what constitutes a city. The United States has a car centric philosophy with few cities being designed with walk or bikeability in mind. It is not uncommon for massive swathes of workers to spend an unpaid hour or more driving from their residence to their place of employment every day.
We should look inward and outward to implement solutions that have been proven effective. Buses, trains, rails, and subways have all been successfully implemented throughout the world as a viable solution to the overall need for transportation. By carefully constructing our modern cities we can create communities that fall more in line with our natural evolution.
-
Redesign cities around self powered modes of transportation.
-
Increase funding for proven long distance travel solutions.
-
Decrease reliance on single occupancy vehicles.
-
Invest in research for alternative modes of energy production.
-
Subsidize public transport to ease the burden on the poor.
-
Staff busses, trains, and railways with security and maintence for safety and cleanliness.
Thank you.
